HISTORY OF ART
Wits History of Art has an active cohort of postgraduate students pursuing Honours, Masters, and PhD degrees. There is a dual emphasis on the conditions of our postcoloniality and curatorial practices as core components of the construction of knowledge in the discipline. Students with History of Art majors regularly go on to successful careers in advertising, arts journalism, curating, museums, archives, picture research, filmmaking, galleries and auction houses, teaching, art-making, heritage, academia, cultural tourism, government, and non-governmental arts sectors.
