POSTGRADUATE DEGREES

BA (Honours)


The Honours degree in History of Art is undertaken by coursework and research essay. Students are required to complete four coursework units and write a research essay of 10,000 words.

Master of Arts


A Masters Degree in History of Art can be undertaken in three different ways: by dissertation, by dissertation and practical project, or by coursework and research report. Dissertation students are required to work with a supervisor to produce either a dissertation of 40,000 words, or a dissertation of 20,000 words in combination with a practical project. Coursework students are required to complete three coursework units, and write a research report of 20,000 words.

PhD


The PhD degree in History of Art is undertaken by thesis, or a combination of thesis and creative work. Students are required to work with a supervisor to produce a thesis of 80,000 words in the former, or a curated exhibition and a thesis of 40,000 words in the latter.
